Every two years, amid great excitement and expectation for Quiltworx diehards, a new Technique of the Month pattern is published. Sew Peaceful is offering you TWO choices of dates so that you can make a start on the 2023 Carnival Flower TOM.
NOTE: Prior experience of Quiltworx patterns is essential. You will need to be confident enough to prep all of your bags and papers IN ADVANCE of the retreat, so that you are ready to sew and learn the new techniques.
Experienced CI Anne Hall will have a schedule for you to follow so that, with some fairly intense sewing, you will hopefully have the first quarter of your pieces completed so that you will have covered all of the new techniques when you leave. Furthermore, Anne is always on hand for you to email / FaceTime if you get stuck or have questions. You are NOT on your own when you leave and you will get continued support throughout your project.
Kits and / or patterns will be available, either in several colourways or you may choose to have a design in custom colours. Anne will design your quilt using Quiltster, and will send you pictures for approval / tweaking BEFORE cutting.
CDN $1,295 + GST for residential quilting retreat, based on TWO sharing an en-suite room with two queen beds. NB. There are two rooms with 4 single beds if you come as a group.
CDN $425 + GST for single supplement to have your own room.
Pattern and kit prices are currently unknown and will be advised later. (Guestimate based on indications from Quiltworx (all prices in Canadian $):
Patterns: $165 Wall / $215 Queen
Kits (including pattern with laser cut applique pieces): $535 Wall / $745 Queen based on approximate yardage given by Quiltworx (28 - 32 yards for Queen size)
Payments for retreat AND kits can be by instalments at NO EXTRA COST. You decide how much and when you pay. Payments from Canadian customers by eTransfer ONLY please, or cheque if you are unable to do eTransfer. (US customers will have a link to pay securely with credit card).

Sew Peaceful recognizes that Covid-19 is, unfortunately, with us for good. We all make a choice when we attend events in the full knowledge that we may contract Covid-19, despite observing hygiene protocol. If you are sick prior to the retreat, please do not attend. If you become sick during the retreat, and you test positive for Covid-19, we would ask that you isolate in your room. We will ensure that you are comfortable, set up with your sewing machine, and bring meals to you unless you wish to check out of the retreat centre. If you require medical services, we will help you in this respect. Unfortunately, no refund will be available, and it is your choice as to whether you arrange your own health travel insurance to cover any expenses that you may occur from contracting Covid.
Sew Peaceful Retreat Cancellation Policy
Before booking with Sew Peaceful Quilting, please read the cancellation policy carefully!
All deposits are due when invoiced after registration, and are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances, to cover administrative costs.
For instalment payments, if your full payment is not received within 4 weeks of the due date (see your individual retreat information for this date), or we have not been contacted by you to arrange payment, you will forfeit your deposit and your spot in the retreat will be opened to the public. (This will only happen after repeated efforts have been made to contact you for payment, by email first and then finally by phone). All payments up to this date are also non-refundable.
Any cancellations by you will forfeit all of the paid fees to date, unless other arrangements are personally made with Sew Peaceful Quilting. However, we understand that sometimes illness and tragedy occur, which may make it impossible for you to attend the retreat. We understand that there are circumstances beyond your control, but it also leaves us with a spot that we are unable to fill. Under these circumstances and at the sole discretion of Sew Peaceful Quilting, you may receive a full or partial credit against a future retreat or workshop (NOT valid for fabric or patterns) organized specifically by Sew Peaceful Quilting, but you will forfeit your original deposit amount. Our ability to transfer you will be subject to availability and we will only transfer your retreat sign up once.
For cancellations within 8 weeks of the workshop, no refunds are available unless you are able to find a replacement, but you will forfeit your original deposit to cover administrative costs.
For US Customers: please note that all transactions will take place in Canadian dollars. Currency exchange rates may change in the event that you cancel, and these are NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF Sew Peaceful Quilting.
Thank you for your understanding.
